My desk this week -
It's a short post this week. I'm enjoying round two of this brutal cold and had to take yesterday off work to spend most of it in bed. I'm officially on 'holiday' now, but still not feeling well. Never mind! At least I now have time to drink all the nettle tea I want.
This picture shows I managed to get all the outlining finished on the wall hanging I'm making for my friend's birthday present. The eagle-eyed among you will notice a nearly finished pink square. I had to unpick the bottom of it as I had sewn the wrong colour in while stitching it in a dim room. Doh. I estimate getting it finished before April.
To the left is a couple of postcards I got this week from Postcrossing. Germany, Netherlands and Czech Republic this time.
The jam turned out fine second time around. In fact the original jam actually tasted like caramel apple and ginger, so will be using that with my ice cream!
I will visit all that leave a comment, and all that end on the same number as me. Have a great week:) xxx
I've got the cold too, first one since October... but it's meaning sleepless/waking nights grrr. Your desk looks great, hope you have a great day today and don't feel too bad. Helen 3

Boo to having a cold :-(. There's so much of it going about.....hope the nettle revives you, as well as copious amounts of ice cream with that delicious sounding apple and ginger jam, slurp :-P
ReplyDeleteI really like that hanging, the patterns appeal a lot. I should imagine it's quite relaxing to do it as you're not having to change colours too often.
Hugs, LLJ 5 xx
Up early today I hope that n and you are feeling better. You made a lot of progress with the cross stitch. Have a good week

ReplyDeleteHello Lucy. That wall hanging is going to look great when it is finished - I love the colour ways. I used to do SO much cross stitching - we even got a two page spread in Cross stitch crazy one month. Unfortunately, times continues, I got older, and now I can't see the holes for any length of time, so don't do nearly as much. Boo hoo!! I love the effects you get with it, too. That jam sounds amazing - just the sort my younger daughter would make - good exciting mixes of flavours - enjoy - when it's warm enough to think about ice cream!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting already - yes, 175 dolls made - only 825 to go!!!! The American branch of the mission our church supports challenged us here in Britain to knit 1000 for them to sell, and the money will go to "our" school.
Hope you will soon feel fully recovered.
Take care. God bless.

Hi Lucy, your tapestry is coming along really well - the black framing will show off those other pretty colours. Glad the jam/topping taste yummy. Cheers and enjoy your week RobynO#25
ReplyDeleteooh, this is looking lovely (I have just picked up my first tapestry, so a bit chunkier than yours, from a charity shop and it too is geometric designs).
ReplyDeleteThe caramel apple mix sounds delicious too.
